An ode to time, and to you

By Jayla Jones

An ode to time, and to you

By 4th year Meghan Hawley

We have known this since conception

and yet the days marched on

from then to now I don’t know how

the time slip’t through my arms

All months met me with elation

a soft kiss on my cheek

from then to now I don’t know how

a year became a week

Our hearts an ocean separates

the distance makes me strain

six hours lie twixt you and I

or two day’s ride by plane

Yet still I say ‘I love you’ for

no time will keep us bound

from then to now if God allows

the clock will turn around

The hour that we meet again

I'll hold you to my breast

the seconds might just pass us by

but we will pass time’s test
