Midnight Musings

Get Drunk

Get drunk. Get drunk they say. On wine and things divine on a hot summer’s day. On the sublime and virtues malign, whatever besets your slipping time.

Get drunk. Get drunk with fervent passion, roaring, soaring with heated action.

Get drunk. With rage and glory, boldened emotions that lauder your story. Hurry.

Get drunk for night is nearing and with it, darkness veering, over existence by which we toil for something so easily spoiled.

And when you’re lost in that blissful daze, floating, drifting among a glistening haze, you’ll see the wonder and magnificence that renders life – open your eyes! Quit stalling, you’re already falling.

Falling

Dangling on the edge eyes closed,

Mind clear, self-composed.

Sound fading into the night,

Stars burning, pulsing essences of light.

Open spectacles to world below,

deep breaths, child let go.

Shaky knees, a whispering breeze,

Secrets of the past fill these trees.

Rushing wind pervades the roar,

Elation, freedom within the soar.

Plunging headfirst towards infinity,

How fleeting, how cruel remains humanity.

Eternal bliss envelops all,

A moment of serenity amid the fall.

Coming To

The morning after,

Tingles with rain and gentle laughter.

Silky soft streams,

And glimmering dreams –

Evanescent longing of memories in between.

Playful banter and witty chatter,

Charming smiles and endless miles,

Distant fires and new desires –

Endless feelings that never tire.

A future that’s lived,

A past that’s borrowed,

A moment that gives,

A present tomorrow.

Infinite beauty lies within,

Human beings that dare to sin.
